Pastor Juampa Martinez

Juampa is a non‑coffee‑drinking, Colombian‑born adventurer who loves living life to the fullest in the outdoors. He and Rachel have been married for over 20 years and have three full‑of‑life daughters, along with Pepper, their Great Dane. In 2002, they met in downtown NYC at Alliance University and have been in ministry together since those early dating days. While their journey began in the NYC Metro area, they also embraced Alaskan life for over eight years. They relocated to sunny Apollo Beach, Florida, in 2021, and now, in 2025, are thrilled to return to Alaska, where Juampa rejoined the staff at Church on the Rock as the Executive Pastor of Operations. Both Juampa and Rachel have extensive ministry experience pastoring in multiple roles and context, as well as Juampa working in the non-profit world for World Vision USA. Juampa’s philosophy of ministry reflects his desire to be a team player who is not afraid to make decisions (or mistakes!), a leader who fosters camaraderie, cares deeply, and shepherds his team.
